The. Worst. Medical. Procedure. Ever.
My father is in the hospital right now and I just watched him get a spinal tap (aka Lumbar Puncture). It was the most horrendus thing I have ever seen. You know how they tell you it's a fucking long needle? THEY ARE NOT LYING. And they poke it all the way into your spine until they find right poke hole to get the fluid.
And then, if you have been on an IV for 2 days and all the fluid has collected in your back since you have been lying in a hospital bed, they have to poke you repeatedly because they can't see where the needle is supposed to go.
And my father only flinched a few times. Damn.

FUCK THAT.

Remember the original "Exorcist" movie? There was only one scene that truly scared the living crap out of me, and it wasn't the pea soup, the 360 degree head turn, the levitating, or any of that other supernatural stuff. It was the scene near the beginning where they give the Linda Blair character a spinal tap to see what's wrong with her. That scene was terrifying to me because it was real.
